A REALLY SPECIAL TEAM
I’m sure Lester Holt will open the 6:30 PM Thursday evening broadcast with this news, but we’re breaking it first.
Relentless 2800 HQ is excited to announce:
We have a REALLY, REALLY SPECIAL TEAM
Congratulations and hats off to:
PINK PONY CLUB
for achieving the incredible feat of filling your three 700-RM buckets AND logging 2800 RMs total. AND DOING IT IN 22 DAYS.
We asked the Pink Ponies for some thought on their experience and what kept them going:
“HQ discussed sacrificing comfort for Lent, and I embraced the challenge. I aimed to push beyond my usual routine—two workouts instead of one, 20 miles on the bike instead of 10. It was about going beyond the status quo. Many on our team took a similar approach, powering through late-night workouts when bed sounded much better!” - Micah Simms
“It was 1% fun, skill, natural ability and 99% unhealthy peer pressure from our leader.” - Anonymous Pink Pony Club Member Dave McMurray
Karen and Steve are grandparents and they were some of the most productive people on our team. They did a lot of workouts together which was super helpful! And they went on vacation and were crushing 10-20 points a day each.
I got strep throat a week into the challenge and was basically dead for four days. The whole team, especially the McMurrays started crushing it during that time!
I think advice for teams that are struggling. As much as you can, do stuff with teammates. Take nice and easy walks that hit a mile or two. Every log doesn’t have to be 10+ points. Those 1-4 RM entry’s add up! And a those bike miles are the easiest miles. So hit that big if you can!
FOR THE OTHER TEAMS: WHAT NOW
Remember, this isn’t a race, this is a challenge! Regardless of where you are, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. You still have PLENTY of time to get that 2800.
