OVER. HALF. WAY.

THE RELENTLESS 2800 FRIDAY DIGEST

Friday updates and news and stuff.

WE’VE CROSSED THE HALFWAY MARK

Now that the goal of finishing this thing FIRST is off the table, let’s focus on the goal of ALL TEAMS FINISHING! Keep an eye on that pace setter, and keep logging.

WATER WINGS FOR THE WIN

We’re landlocked, halfway between the Atlantic and Pacific, and basically at the epicenter of where the Dust Bowl took place. In otherwords, a PERFECT time to drop our new RM category: SWIMMING! Back by popular demand we’re back in the pool. Every 150m you swim = 1 RM.

WHERE ARE WE?

I think we’re in Canute, Oklahoma you guys. I’m not exactly sure which Route 66 town the Pixar movie Cars used as its inspiration for Radiator Springs, but it sounds like it could have been Canute.

SOMETIMES WE CARRY EACH OTHER

Here’s something true: The Relentless 2800 is looonnnnngg—long enough for real life to seep in. And by real life, we mean work commitments that consume your day, family obligations, sickness, injury, and sheer exhaustion. At some point, every team will face it. Chances are, someone on your team needs support right now.

When that happens, we all have two choices: judge and criticize, or carry one another. The latter? That’s the product of love, dedication, and the heart of this challenge.

Today, I received a text from a teammate who’s been spending his free hours at the hospital with his sister. This is not his week to make big contributions. And that’s okay. Because this isn’t just about logging miles—it’s about crossing the finish line, together.

Relentless 2800 isn’t simply about doing your fair share. Sometimes, it’s about leaning into the gift and grace of carrying one another—all the way to mile 2,800.

As the saying goes, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you fulfill the law of love.” (Galatians 6:2)

That’s what this journey is really about.

DEVO DROPPING MONDAY

“Isn’t this a Lent thing?! Where are all the BIBLE STUDIES I was promised?!?!”

People always be clammering for Bible studies.*

It’s true. Relentless is a lent thing. For those looking to add a layer of spiritual fitness to their physical fitness, we’re dropping a 20-day spiritual devotional on Monday. Why Monday? Because Monday is 20 days away from Easter. (See what we did there?)**

SWAG/SOCIAL

JonBob has been killing it on the Insta feed over at “Relentless2800.” Like a post to help him feel better. Thank you.

Also, your bae’s Easter basket would be FIRE with an R2800 sweatshirt in it.

SHOUT OUTS!

Janet Moxley: We see you down in Florida! At 66 you are crushing this challenge. Posting long runs before the rest of your team is considering the snooze button and doing it again at night!

“Best part about Janet is she is a cheerleader in our chat—super enthusiastic and a team encourager”  –DASH AND SMASH Team Leader - Julie Long

Samuel W: Sheesh, nice work CRUSHING that erg. Row miles looking stronnnng.

More Finishers!!: Three more teams are eating In and Out Burgers on the beach in El Segundo with the Pink Pony Club. BIG SHOUT OUT TO TEAMS:

  • Gain Train

  • NextLevel

  • The Mega Milers

GREEN BAR CLUB: Congrats the the EIGHT TEAMS who have filled those workout buckets. (It’s so satisfying seeing that green bar, isn’t it?) For those scratching your heads: as soon as you hit 700 RMs on a category bucket, they turn green! (Luke The Developer FTW)

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint.
