WEEK TWO DIGEST here!
WHOA, THIS IS… RELENTLESS
Friday updates and news and stuff.
We’re 10 days in, and this challenge MIGHT be feeling…relentless. Don’t worry, YOU’VE GOT THIS.
FIRST OF ALL, YOU PEOPLE ARE INCREDIBLE.
At the time of this writing (late Thursday night), NINE TEAMS are over 1,000 RMs. Nine. 9. NINER. Sheesh. (No shame in taking a rest day, y’all.)
GREETINGS FROM SPICELAND, INDIANA!
If you’re on track and keeping up with that pesky pace setter pin, then your team should be at about 700 RMs, which would put you almost exactly at Spiceland, Indiana. (Fun fact: Spiceland is the ONLY “Spiceland” in America!)
AS FOR THAT LEADERBOARD…
Pink Pony Club is getting all they can handle from Next Level and the Second Halfers. All of you are almost to Tulsa! Get some!
SPEAKING OF “LEADERBOARD”
We’ve had another question lobbed in from an HQ daughter: “Hey dad, if it’s not a race, why is there a leaderboard??!!”
We think that’s pretty obvious. It’s so that we might love and encourage those brave souls that go before us. Right? But seriously only pay attention to the leaderboard if it is helpful. The more important set of numbers is your team's total and the pace setter. End each day at or just past the pace setter and you are on track!
BTW, have we mentioned recently that “winning” is just having your team reach 2800 RMs? Have we?
STAYING ON TRACK IS RELENTLESS
Huge props to the super teams near the top of the leaderboard, but for the rest of us normal humans—let’s talk about staying on track. Each team should aim for 70 RMs per day—so after 10 days, about 700 RMs. Most of you are there (amazing!), but if you're a little behind, don’t stress.
Fun fact: The original team was behind the entire time in the early years. And guess what? They still made it. YOU CAN TOO.
*NEW* SHARE YOUR STORY
Team leaders, I’m looking at you.We at HQ have heard some GREAT stories through the grapevine, BUT, we’d love to capture more and share them out as encouragement to the entire group. If this challenge has been meaningful to you, drop us a note HERE. Thank you.
ROW WEEK COMING SOON!!
At some point next week, assuming our gigantic team of app coders* can make it happen, you’ll see a BRAND NEW category for logging RMs. Rowing!! You read that right: next week is ROW WEEK. You’ll get 1RM for every 1000 meters you row, and anything you log will be added to your Timed Workout bucket. If you can find an erg, even an average human should be able to get 7RMs in less than an hour. Try it out!
*one guy, Luke.
SWAG AND SOCIALS
Get some hot drip and then post about it, yo.
SOME SHOUT-OUTS!
If you’re wondering which team has the most points in each category, here’s a breakdown:
BIKING: Next Level: 564 RMs
RUN/WALK: Iron and Asphalt: 557 RMs
TIMED WORKOUT: OPPs: 461 RMs
TEAM Baddies! If you scroll down that leaderboard, you’ll see a team called Baddies. I don’t know what you were doing in high school, but this team made up entirely of HS students is fricking crushing this challenge!
Additional Baddie shout out to:
Carden B. and his sister, Josie. Josie has 63 bike RMs and her bro has 220!! (That’s more than most teams!!)
Keep it up folks!
